Absolutely! In the Netherlands there are laws which are meant to counter false self-employment, where someone is an independent contractor on paper but in reality is treated as an employee. The independence of a contractor is assessed by examining the nature of the work, whether there is a relationship of authority, and the degree of embedding in your organization. Due to my independent role and my specific expertise, it is highly unlikely that our collaboration will be considered as employment.
As a cloud consultant I analyze your situation and help you make the right choices around cloud provider and architecture. Sometimes I help with the implementation, such as setting up Infrastructure as Code or a migration, but always from an advisory role so your team can manage it themselves afterwards.

U.S. providers such as AWS and Google Cloud offer the widest range of services, while European providers such as Hetzner and TransIP are attractive when data has to stay within the EU or when you want to keep costs down.
