Absolutely! In the Netherlands there are laws which are meant to counter false self-employment, where someone is an independent contractor on paper but in reality is treated as an employee. The independence of a contractor is assessed by examining the nature of the work, whether there is a relationship of authority, and the degree of embedding in your organization. Due to my independent role and my specific expertise, it is highly unlikely that our collaboration will be considered as employment.
